if you want to build your own mining rig this website pcpartpicker.com/ is a great place to start it will help you pick out everything you need i would suggest a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 they run around $120 or so and you could run about 6 GPU's on it
yeah you can get that motherboard and a few 7990's and a good power supply and you will be good to go just throw linux on it like Debian or Arch and you can mine pretty good the most expensive things would be the GPU's but like i said you can put up to 6 on that motherboard and pc part picker just makes it easy for you to see the price and has everything on one website for you to just click and add it to your rig. it handles all the power needs and everything like if you only need a 900w psu or if you need a 1700w psu it will tell you and you can oder it all from there. the main thing is you don't have to use screens on your rig, so you can just run linux and ssh into the box or whatever you want, during setup and install though it would be easier to use a screen. i'm thinking that mother board has a power and reset button on the board so thats always a good thing almost a must have. and you can use a script in your init files to make it mine when it comes back on say after a power outage or something.
you can also make a script to make it change pools to whichever one you want when it would be more profitable to mine from this pool or that pool. thats why linux is way more flexible than windows and greater than mac os
hope this helps if you have any questions just let me know
about 2900-3100 for the first setup and 3900-4100 for the 2nd. Does anybody have any idea how those miners with 60.000-100.000 Kh/s get that kind of speeds ? Would be willing to invest quite a lot of cash for a or some rigs like that.
I think they have racks set up with multiple cards in a cool environment with cheap electricity and internet connection. Thought about this myself, the only danger is that asics come out for scypt making your hardware and investment obsolete. Personally what I am doing is gradually scaling up, reinvesting any profits into additional cards and rigs and learning gradually, keeping one of those farms with 100 cards running must be a full time job
