i would really appreciate it if the build was able to run on 10.6.8 system. can't wait for update Hey there, I went to check my linux last night, I have a 64 bit VM too, so I needed to install a 32 bit version... I have done that now but there are a few more things I need to sort out with it, dependencies and whatnot, but I will have a working 32bit Wt by the end of the day for sure. thanks in advance

OK good news he managed to compile the wallet. for ubuntu 12.04 and later instead of libdb4.8 and libdb4.8++-dev you need lib5.1-dev and libdb5.1++-dev and you are good to go.
EDIT: he didn't manage to run it he got this message:
gryllos ~/netcoin $ ./netcoin-qt
QMetaObject::connectSlotsByName: No matching signal for on_pushButton_46_clicked()
QMetaObject::connectSlotsByName: No matching signal for on_pushButton_clicked()
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

Very odd, I have seen these messages in Qt creator while building but never while running it. Very strange... I am just having a go at building it myself, so I will let him know if I have any success forum.netcoinfoundation.org/thread/609/comipling-netcoind-on-ubuntuAnd yeah those are the packages I use, didn't think to give him this link, as he is building the Qt, just didn't think about it being the same XD

Shouldn't be too long hopefully EDIT: I take it he is using Qt 5.3.1 right? I am having trouble with that one too, I am going to try and install 4.8.5 or 4.8.6, the opensource version Which version of ubuntu is he using? If it is 14.04 ask him to try these libdb5.3-dev and libdb5.3++-dev EDIT, infact here is a full list to try 12.04 sudo apt-get install git-core build-essential libssl-dev libboost-all-dev libdb5.1-dev libdb5.1++-dev libgtk2.0-dev libminiupnpc-dev qt4-qmake mingw32 synaptic qt-sdk qt4-dev-tools libqt4-dev libqt4-core libqt4-gui libdb++-dev miniupnpc unzip 14.04 sudo apt-get install git-core build-essential libssl-dev libboost-all-dev libdb5.3-dev libdb5.3++-dev libgtk2.0-dev libminiupnpc-dev qt4-qmake mingw32 synaptic qt-sdk qt4-dev-tools libqt4-dev libqt4-core libqt4-gui libdb++-dev miniupnpc unzip EDIT: Also he probably knows but he can speed up build times by using the -j switch, Just put 1 more than the number of cores your cpu has, for instance -j 5 for a quad core -j 3 for a dual core, if it is only a 1 core I probably wouldn't use the -j switch Well mine compiles, but just opens and closes, will try and figure out why that is Ahhh yeah, I see, when you run it from the command line it does indeed give the same errors as your friend has, again will look into why, builds okay on 64 bit, so strange

Okay so in the .pro add this line at line 8 CONFIG += release It still gives me a runtime error, but loads We'll work out why the runtime error is occuring and get back to you. It will load second time though and everytime there after EDIT: Also the design is not quite like it is in windows, I will try and find out why that is too. EDIT: Add this one CONFIG += static on line 9, and you should get no runtime error

Get ready for Block 420,000! Everybody must upgrade to the very latest wallet! netcoind users - Make sure you have picked up and compiled the commit ' Prevent potential PIR calc. overflow' from Saturday 23rd Aug. Many exchanges and pools were notified on Saturday as soon as we discovered and fixed it. If we missed you please apply this fix asap. WINDOWS AND LINUX Netcoin-QT USERSEVEN IF YOU HAVE ALREADY STARTED TO USE A 2.1 WALLET, YOU SHOULD STILL UPDATE NOW TO MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME SOFTWARE WHEN THE SWITCH HAPPENS THE CORRECT WALLET LOOKS LIKE THIS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE OVERVIEW PAGE: If you have already re-downloaded the block-chain for the 2.1 wallet, you do not need to do this again You can get the latest wallet software download from the netcoinfoundation.org site, or recompile from the netcoinfoundation/netcoin github repository. I'm excited and looking forward to the switch over on block 420,000! We just need to make sure we are all on the same software when it happens to reduce the chance of multiple forks.
