Now that is still new and I believe the difficulty is not so high, would you risk mining it on laptop with a core i3 and Intel GPU? I don't know whether I can mine on the GPU though, I heard it needs OpenCL support, and I'm on Linux, never tested it...
Well, I'm not sure if this could be successfull, but I would give it a try there's nothing to loose. After you downloaded the client and the blockchain is synchronized you can start mining. You can watch the miner stats and then decide if it's worth to go on with the laptop.
Well I think 40kh/s isn't much. But the difficulty is still not too high yet. Maybe pool mining could be an option and is more effective. I try pool mining with my laptop now. Anyway my laptop is even too slow for pool mining I have to upgrade
Hi, 40kh/s is way too low. Also, laptops or any CPU mining is pretty much pointless for scrypt coins, unless they are brand new and the difficulty is 0.00002. Other than that you need a Radeon GPU, even the cheap ones are faster than the best CPUs. As far as openCL goes, all you need is the latest driver for your graphics cards and it will come with openCL. Or you could just download it as a .dll, however, you need the latest drivers anyway so better to do it that way
